Nigerian superstar, Wizkid has touched down in the Western African country of Gambia ahead of the country’s 50th independence anniversary today, Saturday, February 28, 2015. The Golden Jubilee celebration to mark Gambia’s 50th independence will hold at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. Gambia, a West African country, gained independence from the United Kingdom in February 1965. With Banjul as capital, Gambia’s population is a little over 2 million as at April 2013. Wizkid shared a picture of himself with the band in Gambia rehearsing for his performance with the caption: ‘Rehearsal with the band and my people! Gambia we shutting down Bakau independence stadium!! tomorrow!! Blessings.’
